How to play

  1. Vote for the diner you will cook in. Each one has a twist: the lunch rush, an earthquake, a blackout, a downpour with a leaking roof, or a food truck that moves between stops.
  2. Customers sit at the tables and their order shows up on the side chalkboard with the table number. Their face goes from happy to angry while they wait.
  3. Cook gallo pinto, casados, tacos, empanadas, arepas and ceviche: rice and beans go in the pot, beef and plantain are chopped and fried in the pan, cheese is ground, limes are squeezed and the dough is patted to the beat before it hits the griddle or the oil.
  4. Plate the dish and walk it over to the right table. When customers finish they leave a dirty plate: clear the table and wash it in the sink, or nobody else can sit there.
  5. On phones: stick on the left, green button to grab, serve and clear; the other button chops, pats, grinds, squeezes, washes or makes you dash. On a computer: WASD/arrows, Space and E.
  6. If a pan flares up, smother it with the lid. If the fire jumps to the counters, put it out with the bucket of water (never water on hot oil!).
  7. At the end the faces are counted: you win by reaching the happy-customer goal. The podium honors whoever helped most: serving, prepping, washing, clearing tables and putting out fires.
