- The host picks an island generated from a seed (type a number to replay an island). Everyone washes ashore next to a shipwreck.
- Move with the joystick (or WASD) and use the ACTION button (or space/E) to gather, chop, mine, attack, carry a teammate and interact. Hold it to keep going.
- Keep your three buckets up: Energy (spent by hard work and hits; drip coffee tops it up), Food (cook at a campfire or a stone stove) and Shelter (you get soaked in the rain, in water and in the mountain wind). Soaked to the bone, you walk slower and tire fast.
- Every night a downpour rolls in with wind gusts and lightning. Take cover under a Palm hut, in a cave mouth or by the ship; a campfire under a roof dries you off fast, but out in the open the rain puts it out. The rain also brings food-stealing bats, beach crabs and jaguars that hunt anyone wandering alone.
- If your energy hits zero you faint: a teammate can carry you (walking slower) back to the ship to bring you round, or you can crawl there yourself. If everyone faints, the island wins.
- Beat the 4 guardians (forest, swamp, desert and snowy peak) to get their trophies and craft the Mast, Sail, Helm and Compass in the Shipyard. Install them on the ship.
- Once the ship is ready, gather and set sail before the great storm (day 10). On the crossing, patch leaks, dodge lightning, kick the crabs off the deck and hold on to the mast when the wave hits. The long game has a dry season (short showers) and a rainy season (downpours from the afternoon).
Bucket Survival is a co-op pixel-art survival game for 1 to 16 friends on their phones: every match generates a brand-new tropical island from a seed, with biomes, rivers, caves, ruins and guardians. Gather, build palm huts, cook, sit out the nightly downpours, carry fainted teammates back to the ship and repair it to escape before the great storm.
